Pakistan’s National Electric Vehicle Policy

Pakistan approved an ambitious National Electric Vehicles Policy (NEVP) in November, with targets and incentives aimed at seeing electric vehicles capture 30% of all the passenger vehicle and heavy-duty truck sales by 2030, and 90% by 2040. It sets even more ambitious goals for two- and three-wheelers and buses; 50% of new sales by 2030 and 90% by 2040. Read the detailed report:

Banning Two-stroke Auto-rickshaws in Lahore

Research work on the problem of banning two-stroke auto-rickshaws in Lahore was undertaken in different contexts such as its impact on the socio-economic status of rickshaw drivers, factory workers engaged in rickshaw manufacture, rickshaw manufacturers, rickshaw users, etc, and quantification of its benefits and costs to have an idea about its socio-economic implications. As the preliminary enquiry revealed that the problem had many policy implications also, it was resolved to do some primary spade work with this reference in mind. Click
